Man, Life is beautiful! I'm so lucky!, no. Im so thankful for the people around me. I just started a sculptural bench made from stainless steel. It is a monument for a great man who passed away and It is an honor to have the oppertunity to create a work of art in his memory. I just purchased a welder and feel like I am laying the foundation for a successful career. My business, Set in Stone concrete is just getting started and the marketing and design involved with that is so exciting to me. My logo for the business is perfect. There is a lot going on in the seemingly simply design. I wanted to talk a little about it so that others can see all the little meanings behind the symbol. First of all. When I set out to create the symbol I just wanted it to make use of the S. I. S. for set in Stone. Everything that that was put together using the S. I. S. initials looked cheesy. So, I decided to replace the S. with the number 5. As soon as the switch was made things started to happen visually. Second, I have always been really into anciant egyptian and mayan architecture and art. I am also intrigued by religous symbolism and urban legends including conspiracy thoeries and alien crop circles. The logo some how seems to include all of these references. A figure can also be found which I think assists others to relate to the symbol in a more personal manner. lets start with the egyptian reference. The base of the symbol is similar to the base of a pyramid, and if you were to rearange the circular part at the top and attach it to the base you would have an egyptian pheonix. It was common in ancient egyptian art. As far as the Mayan influence the angular shapes of the bottom along with the wispy circular shape at the top seems like it "could be" Mayan. In religous symbolism no matter what christian religeon you are talking about the "A" and the "O" show up. They are used to represent God, Alpha and Omega, The begining and the end. An "A can be found in the base of the symbol and an "O" is made from the form at the top of the symbol. This was an important part to include in the design because I believe anything good does in fact come from God. The symbol also resembles some of the photos of crop circles that have been found around the world. That just a quicky I could go on and on about why I chose the colors or why the words "one of a kind" sometimes share the space with the logo but for now I will just leave it at that.
